After graduating from the University of Jordan in Jordan, I went to Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School for a three-year Internal Medicine Residency/Post graduate training. I pursued a Fellowship/Specialty in Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. During my two-year Nephrology Fellowship, I became enamored with the science of Kidney Transplant and was inspired by the acts of kindness from the multitude of kidney donors that I had evaluated. Therefore, I decided to expand further with an additional year of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant at Keck Hospital of USC where I earned my UNOS certification in both. After working in Las Vegas, NV for three years, I decided to return to my favorite city in the world, Chicago. I joined Associates in Nephrology/AIN in November of 2022. My Interests in the field of Nephrology and Transplant are numerous including Critical Care Nephrology, Glomerular diseases, Diabetic and hypertensive kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, in-center and home dialysis, difficult-to-control hypertension, transplant Immunology, acute and chronic kidney allograft rejection, improving kidney graft survival, preemptive kidney transplant, living donor kidney transplant, comprehensive post kidney transplant care/life-long follow-up, opportunistic infections in transplant patients, and hereditary and congenital diseases of the Kidney. I am privileged to be able to cater to the needs of the underserved communities in the south side of Chicago. As a physician trained in Nephrology and Transplant, I strive to employ my expertise in diagnosing and delaying progression of chronic kidney disease through exciting new advancements in our field and advocate for kidney transplant as a life-altering treatment modality that I consider to be a second chance at a healthy life free of dialysis. I am the happiest when I hear my transplant patients in clinic sharing their recent travels around the world and making beautiful memories with their loved ones. Outside of work, I am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, scuba diving and passionate about health and fitness.
