After training in Nephrology and Internal Medicine in Chicago and Los Angeles I decided to return to my favorite city to join Associates In Nephrology in 2010. Detail-oriented, I provide passionate and compassionate care for a variety of conditions, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) including diabetic kidney disease, home and in-center dialysis, acute kidney injury, difficult-to-control hypertension, kidney stones, renal transplant, fluid, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances. Half a century after the creation of National End-Stage Renal Disease Medicare Program, a federal initiative ensuring dialysis was a right of all citizens, exciting new developments are happening again in Nephrology: from new diabetes medicines that help slow the progression of chronic kidney disease while also treating heart failure and keeping patients out of the hospital, to novel treatments for lupus nephritis, gene-directed therapies, innovations in dialysis including wearable artificial kidneys, expanded transplant options including xenotransplantation, other newly approved kidney-related treatments and devices, such as new platforms to diagnose kidney diseases. I would be honored to help you navigate this complex and constantly evolving field of Medicine! To me, practicing Nephrology is a source of tremendous satisfaction through both constant intellectual challenge and the ability to interact with my patients in various settings at a personal level. I take pride in attending to the needs of the underserved communities residing in the South Side of Chicago. I constantly strive to provide comprehensive and cost-effective care of unsurpassed excellence. I enjoy doing research and teaching medical students, interns and residents. I published several articles and I was awarded the Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology title. My hobbies include playing duplicate bridge, travelling the world and running. Among other races, I ran and completed the Chicago Marathon in 2018.
