I believe in the importance of a close partnership between the physician and patient which fosters trust and respect in order to be successful. I am a Chicagoland native. I obtained my medical degree at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I returned to the Chicago area to complete my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. I then completed my Nephrology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I was honored to receive the Fellowship Excellence Award by the Division of Nephrology. After my fellowship training, I was excited to return to home and join Associates In Nephrology in 2020 and practicing again in Park Ridge! I was drawn to Nephrology because of its fascinating physiology but what motivates me on a daily basis is the relationships I have with my patients and their families. Kidney disease is complex which is why I find great satisfaction in educating my patients so they have the correct information and tools to be active participants in their own health. I make sure that my patients have a good understanding of not only the treatment plan but also the reason behind the plan. My osteopathic medicine background instilled in me the importance of treating the whole person and I practice this in a supportive and nurturing environment. I provide focused, dedicated, comprehensive, and compassionate care for a variety of conditions some of which includes chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, kidney stones, kidney transplant, polycystic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, as well as acid-base & electrolyte disorders. I enjoy teaching medical students, interns, and residents. I am a member of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI) Professional Advisory Board and participate in the wonderful Walk for Kidneys event in the summer. I have a variety of interests outside of medicine which include my avid love of Chicago sports, nature walks, nature photography, traveling, and exploring new restaurants and cuisines. This is a great time in nephrology with so many new developments on the horizon and am very excited and honored to serve my patients in this new era!
