Dr. Mussie Beraki

Dr. Mussie Beraki is a board-certified nephrologist practicing with Associates in Nephrology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Bologna, one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious medical institutions. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and his Nephrology fellowship at Saint Louis University. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Dr. Beraki provides comprehensive care for a wide range of kidney disorders, including diabetic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and kidney stones. He has expertise in both home and in-center dialysis, as well as renal transplant care. He also specializes in difficult-to-control hypertension and the management of fluid, acid-base, and electrolyte imbalances.

Dr. Beraki is dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical care for his patients. He genuinely cares about each patient and strives to address all of their health concerns with compassion and thoroughness. He believes strongly in patient education, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health. He values shared decision-making and strives to involve patients as active partners in all clinical decisions pertaining to their care. Dr. Beraki is also a firm believer in collaborative, team-based care, working closely with primary care physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, coordinated treatment for his patients.

He is fluent in English, Italian, Tigrinya, and Amharic, allowing him to serve a diverse patient population. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing piano keyboard, cycling, and basketball. Dr. Beraki welcomes new patients and accepts referrals for nephrology consultation and management.
