Dr. Malgorzata a. Kochanek

Dr. Malgorzata Kochanek is a dual board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center, and finished her fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Kochanek is currently practicing at Associates in Nephrology in Park Ridge, Illinois, where she provides comprehensive, personalized care for patients with kidney disease at her outpatient CKD office, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, and at nearby Fresenius dialysis units. She is known for her expertise in AKI, CKD, ESRD, polycystic kidney disease, HTN, kidney stone prevention,  electrolyte abnormalities, and kidney transplant. With years of experience managing complex kidney conditions, Dr. Kochanek brings a thoughtful and personalized approach to every patient she sees. She provides important education for her patients and works with their other physicians to create a cohesive, comprehensive plan. She is a compassionate and detail-oriented physician who treats her patients as she would her own family and friends. Additionally, Dr. Kochanek is one of very few Polish-speaking nephrologists in the Chicago area and is highly respected in the Polish community. She is committed to staying at the forefront of medical advances through ongoing research and education. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national conferences. Dr. Kochanek is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She teaches both medical students and resident doctors at Advocate Lutheran Medical Center. She is also a leader in her field, serving on the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI) Professional Advisory Board. In addition, Dr. Kochanek serves on the board of Associates in Nephrology as well as multiple committees, helping to set the direction for the organization. Her passion is driven by the bonds she builds with her patients over the course of their lives and the happiness she holds in keeping them happy and healthy.
