Typically, the symptoms associated with chronic kidney disease do not present during the first three stages. Under some circumstances, they may not present at all.

Common complications include anemia (low blood iron), high blood pressure (hypertension) and abnormal blood levels of Phosphorus, Calcium and Vitamin D.

Common symptoms include fatigue, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, swelling in hands/legs/eyes/lower back and shortness of breath.Common complications include abnormal lab values including elevated potassium, abnormalities in hormones related to bone health, elevated Phosphorus and/or decreased Calcium, and high blood pressure (hypertension).
